Problems Recording: Loading Failed (See error message in body of this message.)

When I click on the record button, this is the error message that comes up.... (I am using Mozilla Firefox on a MacBook Pro.)

Loading...
Failed

Don't have permissions for audio hardware: access denied (java.util.PropertyPermission java.io.tmpdir read)
cancel

I am excited to try out recording and uploading files!

    Hi,

    It looks like the Java applet didn't have permission to access a temporary storage space on your computer to store the recording. Did you get a window asking you to accept a security certificate?

    Hi, java ought to prompt you for permission to access your microphone.
    Perhaps you could quit firefox and try it again?

    I quit Firefox and just tried it again.... No luck!

    As for the security certificate, one did come up in the set up process but I don't recall if it was for permission to access temporary storage space or not....

    Any other suggestions?

    No, unfortunately it needs to be fixed on your computer - Java remembers whether or not you clicked the "don't allow" button on permission checks. That said, restarting Firefox definitely fixed it for me on Snow Leopard.

    Something you might try
    - in /Applications/Utilities, you should have an Java Preferences app - Open it, go to Advanced, and change the Java Console setting to Show Console.
    - Restart Firefox. - visit http://audioboo.fm/boos/new, & you should get a popup window as Java loads - Hit 'x' in Java's popup console window, it ought to say something about clearing the classloader cache - Try reloading the page

    Hopefully that ought to re-prompt you for the permissions dialog
