Embedding Boo in wordpress.com
I'm new to this so probably missing something basic, but I can't seem to embed my Boo in hosted Wordpress. I've copied and pasted the embed code into the HTML section, I've copied and pasted the Player code in same, but I either get a blank Boo or a jumble of random Boos from other people. Is it just the case that hosted Wordpress doesn't accept Boos? I can't find any reference to that being the case.
What I am trying to do is share some audio I've been sent of a radio interview about a book I've written via my blog, preferably as a single file but at the moment I just want to get the Boo up. At the moment, I have three Boos I don't seem able to share - which defeats the object of AudioBoo. So, I've probably missed something basic. Help appreciated.

Hi - have you got an example page showing the problem? And do you know what version of Wordpress you're running?

OK. Just to emphasise, I'm using wordpress.com, the hosted version, not wordpress/org, the self hosted version. Wordpress.com runs the latest version for users.
When I paste the player copy into my blog post HTML view, it looks like the attached PlayerOnPage image.
When the link is clicked, it looks like the Player Image attached.
Embedding the Boo embed code gives the same style of link, and leads to what's shown in the attached Embed Boo image.
I'm nipping out now, so it's going to be later before I pick this discussion up again. Thanks.

Update: The player embeds fine in my static web page (Rapidweaver software hosted on Little Oak). So it's looking more like wordpress.com, the hosted version, cannot support AudioBoo uploads, which really needs to be made clearer if that's the case.
The solution of sharing a Boo by posting a link on my blog that takes people to a media player on my website seems a bit clunky, but it also seems the only available route. Unless, as I said, my newbieness has made me miss something basic.

Unfortunately, WordPress.com doesn't support plugins, so its difficult for us to solve the probelm.
However, if you type .mp3 at the end of any audioboo url, you can embed that into WordPress by following the instructions here:

Hope that helps

It looks like Worepress.com are very restrictive about what players they will support. Your best bet for inserting individual boos is to use the following tag:
[audio http://audioboo.fm/boos/196786-ad-powley-and-spurs-61-book-on-radio...]
A bit disappointing, I know... I'll keep on the lookout for a better solution in the mean time.

Wordpress.com is a bit restrictive, but you need to distinguish between the hosted and self-hosted versions when referring to it. It's not clear at the moment.
I've also just followed the Wordpress link instructions to the letter and the player embeds, but when selected it doesn't recognise the URL. It's possible it might recognise it as a straight URL and not an mp3, but tbh I've now posted the player on my website and moved on. I'll want to come back to this just to solve the technical issues, but for now AudioBoo and compatibility with Wordpress, which is THE blogging platform is a bit of an issue.

You need to make clear that this plug in DOESN'T work on wordrpess.com hosted sites. Wordpress expects you to upload the audio file and use its hosting.

A further thought: in order to upload audio files to Wordpress.com you have to purchase a "space upgrade" for dollars - this lets you embed audio files. Allowing embedding of Boo files with a flash plugin would circumvent this and stop Wordpress earning dollars.
A clever move, but not nice all the same.

I think you may be right. I think I might have seen a soundcloud player working there before so maybe if we were to ask nicely... Closing this thread for now
